This kitchen needed updating for design, color and convenience.   A luminous ceiling was added to create uniform task lighting, and Aretz Interiors moved the refrigerator to the opposite side of the room and the range nearer to the sink, thereby making cooking more convenient.   Another need in this kitchen was to create a nice area for the dog's cage (note the cage in the lower right of the before picture, against the cabinet).   In the design for the cabinets, Aretz included a cabinet where the dog's cage had been, with a tambour door.   This "rolltop desk" type door allows the customer to leave the door open for access to the dog cage, or close it when the cage is not in use.   This cabinet also added counterspace to this nicely remodeled kitchen.
